THE LIGHT FUND

Progressive Preschool is a major supporter of The Light Fund charity, aiming to make a big difference to thousands and thousands of people’s lives less fortunate than ourselves.

The Light Fund was created back in 2004 sparked an idea by Jakki Brown and Ian Hyder (co-owners of Max Publishing) to create an industry wide charity body that would raise monies to fund worthwhile charity projects to help children, women and men.

Together with a group of like-minded people from the UK licensing industry, The Light Fund committee was formed and the fundraising commenced!

The Light Fund name is an acronym for: Licensing Industry Giving Help Together.

Since its inception, The Light Fund has raised well over £500,000 funding a huge number of worthwhile projects with a myriad of different charities. Among the 2012 beneficiaries were The Children’s Trust Hospital, Orchid, MSRC, Whizz Kidz, Rainbow Trust Childrens Charity and many others.

“The Progressive Preschool Awards are a major contributor to the Light Fund. Through the generosity of so many suppliers and retailers in the preschool sector, a significant number of fine charities have benefited greatly, and will continue to do so,” commented Jakki Brown, joint managing director of Max Publishing and co-founder of The Light Fund.
